In the early 1990’s, Neal spent a lot of time on outdoor adventures with his close friends Eric and Libby McDonald at their house in rural Wisconsin. It was a beautiful, idyllic time that inspired this Christmas ballad about a tragedy in the community.

Neal was invited to perform at Move Me Brightly as part of the house band, only leaving the stage a few times in the 5+ hours of the event. We hope you enjoy this stirring version of “Ship of Fools.”

Neal made many 8-track recordings at his home studio in Columbia, New Jersey between 1997 and 1999. Most were largely based around his acoustic guitar, John Ginty’s B3 organ and Angie McKenna’s beautiful harmony singing.

This month, we have a an auction for two special items signed by Neal. One is a Shure microphone donated by the Shure team and was used by Neal during a Chris Robinson Brotherhood show in 2016.
