Tomorrow’s Sky: Photographs by Neal Casal

Neal’s photography matches the caliber of his music-making.

One of his last wishes was that a book be made of the photographs he has taken over the last 20+ years while he traveled the world as a musician, surfer, and global explorer.

Jay and Ricki Blakesberg have brought to fruition a 240 page hard cover coffee table book that features over 250 beautiful photographs all from the eye of Neal. The book is titled Tomorrow’s Sky: Photographs by Neal Casal.

Neal had a unique perspective, he used his lens to document intimate and honest moments often overlooked. What an honor it is for us to see the world through his keen eye.

Neal was a stealth photographer who always carried his camera and documented the people, places and scenes as they passed before him. The photos are beautiful and from the hip. Nothing is set up, it is real life in real time.

Tomorrow’s Sky: Song and Photographs by Neal Casal

Neal’s coffee table book, Tomorrow’s Sky is set up into six sections entitled, SURF, ROAD, ROOMS, HUMANS, TRAVEL & MUSIC, all subjects near and dear to him. Each section is a deep reflection of where Neal was in his life, whether backstage with his band, in a recording studio with Willie Nelson, an empty stretch of highway through a tourbus windshield, or on the beach with a surfboard.

Included in the book are essays by a few who knew best what photography meant to Neal: Elizabeth Pepin Silva, Laura Heffington, Ryan Adams, Christy Coleman, Piper Ferguson and Dave Schools.

Limited edition fine art prints of Neal’s photographs from the book are available in our Kickstarter Rewards.
